HELP STOP UNSAFE DEVELOPMENT IN NEWBERRYTOWN
An out of state Developer has proposed a 120-Unit apartment project on a wooded 15-acre site on Church Rd in Newberrytown PA, near the Paddletown Methodist Church & Cemetery. While we support a variety of housing types, we are concerned that this 120-Unit housing project may jeopardize the safety of area residents.
Church Road traffic safety is the more troubling aspect of the 120-Unit project. The main access would be next to Paddletown Church and Cemetery. This is a very dangerous location for a new intersection. In fact, the proposed intersection appears to violate several Newberry Township key safety laws. Just from a traffic safety perspective, the size of this project is not appropriate for the site and the narrow, hilly Church Road with poor sight lines.
This Development will tear down 10+ acres of forest land, with multiple wetlands on the property, and Endangered Species may potentially be harmed, A Trout habitat waterway on the property that flows to the Goldsboro trout stream may be also damaged.
Additional concerns include the safety of children and elderly walking the narrow road with poor sight lines, thousands of new car and truck trips, including additional package delivery, trash and other service vehicles, additional traffic congestion added on to already congested Newberrytown roadways, harmful impacts on police and fire emergency services, and flooding and drainage concerns.

The Planning Commission meets on the 2nd Monday of each month. The Zoning Board meets on the 4th Monday of each month. The Board of Supervisors meets on the 4th Tuesday of each month. Watch for anything on the agenda associated with Zenith Construction. They try and sneak these agenda items in without notifying the local citizens.
